Brand New Website

tmm 181015a

At this time of year, I’m sure most of you are getting very busy, tis the season!  I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving, I'm truly thankful for all the blessings this year has given me, many wonderful opportunities have been presented that I am very greatful for.  I also offer my prayers for those that have been going through some seriously tough times, the CA fire season has been the worst on record and there are some hurting people out there.  I'll be helping out by taking part in a special production of American Legend on December 2nd benefiting Wildland Firefighter Foundation, https://www.facebook.com/events/292647488049513/

Exciting news! My brand new website is ready and was launched today!  You'll notice there has been a name change, http://www.toddmorganmusic.com/  The old sites name will take you here too and not to worry, Todd Morgan & the Emblems are still rocking in the free world. There are still new additions yet to be added to the site but I am very pleased with its new look and content, and I hope you will enjoy stopping by often to learn of new shows, see new photos, videos and opportunities with cool stuff. So much thanks must be given to our web builder, Dave Soltis, owner of An Internet Store, http://aninternetstore.com/, in Carmichael CA. Dave and Brett have great skills and were ever so patience with us in getting the site ready. Between winter and spring recording sessions and summers busy show schedule and travels it was hard to keep up and keep focused at times.

As I just alluded to, I recently I began work on a 4th album, title undetermined at this point, in Los Angeles, CA and in Sacramento, followed by a bit more work to be done in the bay area at Tiny Telephone Recording Studio. Watch for more about the new album early in 2019.  Summer came along and both I and The Emblems became very busy with performances.   I had many more solo shows this year than past years, one reason for the site change, and traveled to Canada for Penticton's Pentastic Music Festival. I also hit some venues in Oregon and Washington on my return trip to Sacramento.

One of the most important things that happened for me this Fall, and will become an important step for The Emblems as well, was signing onto The DNS Agency, http://www.thednsagency.com/. Things are coming together nicely, Dean is easy and great to work with, and I see this helping my career greatly as we move into 2019.  If you haven't seen it yet, there is a new YouTube channel as well, featuring a brand new lyric video for my song Running Wild, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yT2at-uQ3Fg, off the Sweet Pretender album and you can keep a look out for more content coming soon.

Top Albums of 2015: 15 with Sacramento Ties

 | by SubMerge Staff

Like holiday party hangovers and overly optimistic new year’s resolutions, year-end best album lists are a dime a dozen. So what makes ours so special? Well, for one thing, we made it. And we obviously have the kind of refined musical palate you don’t just find by clicking around on the damn internet. More importantly, we split this year’s Top 30 albums list into two distinct portions: 15 albums with connections to the Sacramento area, and 15 albums from the world beyond. There are, of course, many, many, albums that came out over the last year deserving of praise, but these 30 were our favorites. Why? Our staff explains, with Twitter-esque succinctness.

Not to be confused with any ‘50s rock ‘n’ roll impersonator, Morgan has grown into his own style, sound and artistic identity.

Todd Morgan & the Emblems to perform at Harlow’s

By Fabian Garcia
Special to The Bee

Nearly 10 years ago, Todd Morgan & the Emblems was nothing more than a high school cover band indulging in 1950s rock ’n’ roll hits, with little to no original music to stake a claim to.

As the group heads into 2016, Morgan and the band aren’t so much echoing great songs anymore as they are creating them – a shift that he says can and has brought about more joy than anything he’s ever imitated.

Town Center in El Dorado Hills features Todd Morgan and the Emblems

18 Aug

This was the second time we have had the honor of doing sound for this band. We had our usual sound setup, and we love this band because there are only 4 of them. I was announcing and thanking the sponsors, when the new owner of the Sacramento Kings showed up with a few of the big investors. He took the mic for a bit to address the 800+ people in the crowd. It was a pretty cool twist to our usual Thursday night concert routine. The band went on and the crowd went crazy. The obvious non iPhone images are by Angie Cardeña.

Last Thursday night at the Town Center in El Dorado Hills we were treated to another concert by Todd Morgan and the Emblems. The attendance was great and the music was simply awesome. If you haven’t heard this group then you need to keep your eyes and ears out and be sure not to miss the opportunity. They have an energetic and refreshing sound and play with such heart and soul. If you were there you witnessed a whole lot of people with smiling faces and plenty of folks on the dance floor to evidence they were having a good time. To see the schedule for Todd Morgan and the Emblems, be sure to bookmark their website http://toddmorganandtheemblems.com and perhaps they will be back next year at the Town Center in El Dorado Hills.

Todd Morgan and the Emblems at the Fountains in Roseville

29 Jul 2012

todd morgan

Last Saturday night (July 28, 2012) we were treated to a FREE concert at The Fountains in Roseville. The concert featured Todd Morgan and the Emblems and the best description that I can give is they were FANTASTIC! They are a rather unique group in that the band members appear to all be in the 20’s and yet sing songs from the 1950’s and they sound as if they belong in that era. Listening to this group last night was like seeing Jerry Lee Lewis live and in person but only better! This group not only can make you feel like you are transported back to the best days of American Rock and Roll, but they also have their own unique sound that could very well bring that sound back. All we need is another Dick Clark and we might just be on to something.

If you missed the concert in Roseville then you have a couple of more chances to hear them. They will be featured at the upcoming CAM Car Cruise in Sacramento on August 4th, and at the El Dorado Hills Town Center on Thursday August 16th. Be sure to check out their website (http://toddmorganandtheemblems.com

Todd Morgan And The Emblems have a lot to show for all their hard work. Getting the best possible education in music by recording, performing and enduring the ups and downs of the record business, these enthusiastic musicians are bound to reach the outer limits with their endeavors and shows of excellence.

They are one class act with their charming style and good looks but also perform with technical prowess and excitement. They have chosen the genres of the past with their fifties music interpretations and their original songs. They have recorded some great melodies through the auspices of Fred Vail and other auspicious music aficionados.

The lead singing of Todd Morgan and back up group will be showing their talents for a long time to come. The female fans will love the romantic ballads and rockin songs that bring the house down.

They will be performing post show performances after the theater events of Hairspray in Mill Valley in June. So catch their act where you can it is sure to lighten your heart and keep your toes a tappin to their individual take on the music.

Todd Morgan and the Emblems are a four-piece Rock N Roll Band. They are led by singer/songwriter/pianist Todd Morgan. The band’s sound is influenced by nearly every faction of American popular music, but with an emphasis on fifties and sixties sound mixed with modern pop/rock and twenties and thirties jazz and everything in between.

The bands material consists of half originals and half covers. They formed in 2007 as a strictly fifties cover band, but have decided to add more variety and a larger amount of original works. A large reason why this group is different from nearly every other band is definitely the performance style of lead vocalist Todd.

Don’t expect flashing lights, bell or whistles. Do, however, expect a first class front-man with a great band. Do expect top-notch singing, dancing and instrumental solos. All in all expect nothing but a great show.

The band continues to play, progressing in leaps and bounds. They are always updating their repertoire with new material, new genres and songs. The sky is the limit for this enthusiastic band and their soulful singer Todd Morgan!
